For those that are more advanced a place to meet with new friends of similar interest, a critique and perhaps a new outlook and inspiration.

Acrylic Painting

Meet the revolution of Acrylic Painting, there are new tricks and techniques you could never imagine, or try more traditional techniques in painting.

Do you want to break away from the smell and slow drying of oil. There are many different techniques of painting, underpainting, glazing, impasto not to mention many different styles. On canvas, paper or board. A Versatile medium with many different products to create unique textures, resist, collage and good old traditional style.

Material List

Brushes  Flats, rounds and liner  notes: Brushes should have good shape and construction, wooden handles should be lacquered and the ferrule seamless. ( metal edge that holds the bristles) Acrylic brushes are best with a soft fur like feeling with a fraction of the cost.

Stretched canvas, paper or board

Pallet knife and pallet  Paper pallets are great and disposal or any pallet of your choice.

Acrylic Paints  A good start with a variety of colors, plus white, black, raw umber and burnt sienna.

We need to discuss your interest into the specific style of painting you wish to approach to determine the rest of the supplies you will need.

Children and Teens

These lessons are specified for your child’s skill level and interest, we will work in all mediums. Those children that are just learning and love to draw, what a great way to make that interest blossom.

Watercolor, Pastels, charcoal, Pencil, Pens, Markers and unimaginable fun!

Some will learn to paint on Canvas with Acrylic!

Material List

I supply everything we will be using in the studio, also available for use are aprons. Older clothes are still recommended so that they will not get ruined. Should your child’s skill be advanced I may recommend painting on canvas as part of their learning experience. However I ask that parents provide the canvas and I will recommend size, style and shape.
